77th Independence Day of our country was observed in St. Joseph’s English Medium School, Sankarakhol with pomp and enthusiasm. 15th August 2023 was the completion of 76 years of Independence of our country. The school celebrated it gorgeously and glamorously. The whole school campus was decorated beautifully with flags, pots and various paintings. All the students, teachers and non teaching staff were present by 7:00 a.m. in their presence our honorable Chief Guest Mrs. Krishnakumari Sahu, Retired a well acquainted school teacher hoisted the national flag. Then all sang the national anthem in chorus. Students marched in their school uniform, saluting the National Flag with great patriotism. A short but stunning program was organized by the school. That was indeed a cultural function. The guests, teachers, parents and students watched the unfurling of students’ talents with amusement and great delight. Students spoke with eloquence in English, Hindi and Odia on our Independence. Patriotic Poems and Songs were sung melodiously by the students. Students in groups presented dances and dance drama. Fr. Susanth Kanhar, parish priest of St. Thomas Church was the guest of honour. Principal St. Liby George and Manger Sr. Marina too were on stage on this great occasion. Chief Guest Mrs. Krishna Kumari Sahu gave her valuable message and tried to make feel the warmth of independence. She spoke about the significance of the historic day. She advised the students to become ideal citizens of the country. The guests on the dais were felicitated with potted plants, uttirium and memento. The event came to an end at 8.15 a.m. After the programme, sweets were distributed among the students, guests and staffs.
