Freedom in mind,
Faith in the words..
Pride in our soul..
Let’s salute the Nation on this auspicious day.
The school celebrated Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav with great zest and zeal on 15th August 2022. It was a celebration with boundless enthusiasm and respect amidst the rain at St. Joseph’s English Medium School.
The school was decorated with tricolour saffron, white and green sarees and flags. The ceremony started at 7.30 am in the school’s open ground with a small crowd of staff, students and parents.
To commemorate our Nation’s sovereignty, Mrs Janaki Pradhan- Sarpanch of Sankrakhol, the Chief Guest of the function, hoisted the tricolour flag and, in unison, sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom. Fr. Sushanth Pradhan, our Parish Priest; Fr. Kulakanth, Assistant Parish Priest; Principal Sr. Liby George, Manager Sr. Marina, parents, teachers and students were present to celebrate this occasion. Students paid respect to the National flag with March fast and patriotic events.
Our students Priyasha Digal, Debashis Digal and Biswaranjan Digal from class VII took us down memory lane when they spoke about our country and freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, and Subhash Chandra Bose.
In their musical voices, the students’ Choir group sang the Patriotic song that awakened everyone’s feelings towards Mother Land. The school had conducted various competitions to mark “Asadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, like drawing competitions, Quiz, Elocution, patriotic dance, patriotic singing, fancy dress etc. Prize Distribution took place on Independence Day to acknowledge those students who brought laurels for themselves and the school in the various competitions.
Our students from classes VI and VII together gave a befitting and emotional performance on our Indian Army. That moved everyone to tears. It was a true homage to our Valiant Army, which is protecting our country from all sorts of dangers.
The program culminated with a Vote of Thanks. In the end, sweets were distributed to the students. Indeed, it was a day of joy to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience freedom, peace and Unity in Diversity.
