The School celebrated with all pomp and pride the Utkal Divas. Utkal Divas is celebrated on 1st April all over Odisha to commemorate the formation of the State as a separate province. It is the day of remembrance for all the commitments and sacrifices made by the individuals which encourage maintaining unity in the state.
The school rendered a heartfelt tribute to the great architects of Odisha. With much enthusiasm and fervour, the school observed the historic occasion with great patriotism. Retired Government School Teacher and Headmaster, Mr Santosh Kumar Sahu, was the Chief Guest of the function. Mr Sahu spoke of the great transition that the state has gone through. Mr Sahu spoke of the great struggles and miseries people of Odisha have experienced in the past and he concluded his speech thanking God for the marvels he has done to Odisha through many valiant men and women. The Principal, Sr. Liby George, appreciated and highlighted the elegant art and architecture of Odisha. Vice Principal Sr. Lilly Baliarsingh spoke of the rich legacy and uniqueness of the State. Each teacher had something to tell about the different aspects of Odisha, its emblem, motto, cultural and political aspects etc. The teachers sang with much patriotism the state song “Vande Utkal Jenani”. They looked elegant in their Odisha handloom attire. The portraits of the great leaders of Odisha were honoured with the petals of flowers. Miss Amita Behera sang a beautiful Odia song and the programme came to an end with a fellowship tea party.
