The Van Mahotsav festival of trees is a beautiful initiative to save the environment, to which we owe a lot. St. Joseph’s English Medium School, Sankarakhol joined hands with the initiatives of the Nation to save our Mother Earth. From the 1st of June to the 7th of June, the school held different programmes to uphold the values and importance of trees in our lives. The theme of a week’s school assembly was to inculcate the concepts of ‘save trees’, ‘plant more trees’ and the ‘hazards of deforestation’. To help the children to have better learning by doing the school organized an inter-class poster-making competition, plantation of saplings and quiz competition with the theme ‘Save Trees, Save our Mother Earth’. There was active participation from all students and teachers. It was very educative and entertaining for students to work as a team and learn from one another.
