Small cheer and a great welcome make a merry feat. On the 2nd of February 2023, our hearts were welling up in gratitude and joy as the school celebrated a unique grace-filled event, the visit of our dear well-wisher and friend, Mr Percy Menzies. It was a day to be highlighted in the annals of St. Joseph’s English Medium School, Sankarakhol. The visit of this great man represented the affection of an entire family who had been excessively generous, which is beyond description. He epitomized our relentless supporters, Mrs Rita, Denise and family, as well as Mr Percy, Judy and family. He was welcomed with much enthusiasm and love, and his presence was celebrated with great excitement and festivity. Our enchanting dancers and lovely students welcomed our guests with flowers, dances, and a melodious welcome song.

He witnessed the incredible works of the school in an impoverished region by giving young children hope and opportunities. He was accompanied by Fr. Richard Vas, our mentor and facilitator, former Superior General Sr. Pauline and Sr. Prasanna, our Provincial Bursar.

Principal Sr. Liby George introduced Mr Percy to the school and placed on record their family’s partnership with the school since its very beginning, without which all our achievements would have been a distant dream. She introduced him as an angel in disguise, a pharmacist by trade but a philanthropist by heart, friend and companion on our journey to serve the people in Odisha. The school gathered to honour the guests and customarily felicitated them. The school organized a fellowship meal on this special day to mark the joyful occasion. The continued support of our benefactors is very inspiring and motivating for many more milestones to come. They are the catalyst that stimulates everyone to do their best.
